SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL LIFE (Week 4) – "Dancing Through Setbacks and Steps Forward"

Week 4 – Reporting, Dancing, and Heading Home

This week was a mix of academic duties, cultural activities, and a well-deserved break. As the month progresses, I’m starting to get into the groove of balancing schoolwork and my personal time.

Monday: Reporting in Class

The week kicked off with some reporting in class. I’ve always been a bit nervous about presenting in front of everyone, but I managed to get through it. It was a good opportunity to share what I’ve learned and practice speaking confidently. The more I do it, the easier it gets—or at least that’s what I’m telling myself!

Tuesday: Dance Practice for Lapay Bantigue

Tuesday was a bit different from the usual class schedule. There were no regular classes because all the teachers and faculty staff were in a meeting, so we spent most of the day practicing the Lapay Bantigue dance for our presentation on Thursday. It was fun to learn the steps and work with my classmates. The dance is a beautiful expression of culture, and even though it took a lot of coordination, I enjoyed every bit of it. By the end of the day, we were all a bit exhausted, but it was worth it.

Wednesday: A Tough Quiz

Wednesday didn’t go as well as I had hoped. I had a quiz in my elective subject, and unfortunately, I didn’t do so well. It was disappointing, but I’m trying to see it as a learning experience. I know where I went wrong, so now it’s about preparing better next time. Every setback is a step toward improvement.

Thursday: Video Presentation and Photo Op

Thursday was a busy but rewarding day. Our PE teacher was in a meeting, so instead of presenting the Lapay Bantigue dance live, we're told to video the presentation and sent it to her. It took us three takes to capture the perfect shot, but the whole class was incredibly supportive for each helping each other throughout the process. It felt good to see our hard work come together on camera. Later in the day, during the last subject, our teacher wrapped up the discussion and assigned a take-home task. Before we left, we even had a little photo session with the teacher—it was a nice way to end the day.

Friday to Monday: Long Weekend Ahead

With no classes from Friday to Monday, I decided to head back to my province. It was a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle of school. Being home always recharges me, and I’m ready to take on whatever the next week brings.
