SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL LIFE (Week 14) – " Catching Up and Cherished Traditions"
Week 14: Catching Up and Cherished Traditions
After last week’s unexpected break due to Typhoon Kristine, Week 14 felt like a fresh start. With classes back in session, everyone was ready to get back on track, but it was clear that some of us were still feeling the effects of last week’s disruption. The pace picked up quickly, and teachers wasted no time assigning new lessons, activities, and quizzes to make up for the lost time. One of the biggest adjustments this week was catching up on the subjects that were paused. In some classes, we had back-to-back discussions, while in others, we focused on practical activities. It was intense, but honestly, it felt good to get back into the rhythm. I noticed that my classmates and I were much more focused—we had a sense of urgency to keep up, almost like we all knew we couldn’t let ourselves fall behind now.
This week was only a three-day class week, though, as Thursday was declared a holiday for the preparation of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. By Thursday afternoon, I finally got to go home—the first time since the start of the school year! It felt great to be back, and the opening of November was full of unforgettable moments with my family. On November 1st, we visited my late grandparents at the cemetery, a family tradition that felt special as always. We stayed late, sharing stories and memories of them. Then, on the 2nd, we returned at lunchtime, bringing food and spending the entire afternoon and evening together. Every year, these days are a meaningful reminder of our family bond and our shared history. It’s a time of remembrance, love, and togetherness that makes these visits to the cemetery feel less like farewells and more like a time to reconnect with those we’ve lost.
Week 14 was both a time to catch up with school and a time to reconnect with family, making it a truly memorable week
